Rossland YAN Opening Guidelines
**There will continue to be an online/virtual programming presence for those youth not able to attend the space.**
Limits of Use
If youth or visitors are experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever, chills, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, new muscle aches or headache, or sore throat AND/OR have travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days AND/OR are a close contact of a person who tested positive for COVID-19, they will NOT be allowed to enter the space.
There will be a limit of 12 people total (including staff) in the youth centre to maintain physical space. Youth will be required to be dispersed in the various rooms throughout the centre so they aren’t congregating together.
Drop ins will be themed (ie. arts, film, games, etc) so as to encourage youth to drop in on days that cater to their specific interests.
Upon entry, youth will be required to sanitize their hands. Sanitizer will be provided at the main door.
Youth will be encouraged to wear masks in the space. Masks will be provided to those who need them.
Youth will be briefed on these new guidelines when they enter the space.
Physical Distancing
Youth and staff should maintain physical space by remaining on different chairs/couches.
Close greetings, for example hugs and handshakes, should be avoided and youth should be reminded to maintain space whenever possible.
Snacks will be individualized either in separate wrappers or personal bowls.
One student is to be at the laptop station at a time.
Games requiring close contact and shared items (board games) will be removed or disallowed.
Cleaning
Frequently touched surfaces- door knobs, tables, desks, etc- will be cleaned daily with Health Canada approved disinfectant.
Laptops and ping pong table will be cleaned after each use.
Bathroom will be cleaned/sanitized once per day with Health Canada approved disinfectant.
The space will be thoroughly cleaned/disinfected once per day (all touched surfaces disinfected) by a YAN staff.
The space will be thoroughly cleaned/disinfected once per week by a hired cleaner.
Tracking
Youth will be required to sign in upon entry and provide contact details. They will sign out when they exit the building.
Staff will fill out a “ready-to-work” sheet upon arrival at every shift.
We are so excited to present Rossland YAN’s summer schedule! Looking for a place to cool down after shredding it up at the skatepark? Drop in at the YAN space on Mon, Weds or Fri afternoons. Tuesday mornings beginning July 7 there will be a community skate session for girls and women. It will be a low pressure environment to practice skills and encourage each other. Additionally, beginning July 14 there will be an outdoor movie screening outside the YAN space. Space is limited and social distance measures apply. Yeewww!
New challenge! Build a fort contest. Be sure to tag @rossland_yan on your Instagram or Facebook post highlighting your Fort to be entered. The prize will be a 25$ gift certificate to Gold Rush Books. Best of luck to all the Fort builders! Poster design by @raphael.akiba.art
